1. Who is eligible to participate in the contest?
The contest is open to all high school students in Canada. You don't need to be an InGenius Prep student or CYCS participant to enter!
2. Is there an entry fee for the contest?
No, there is no entry fee. Participation in the CYCS Young Artist Impact Design Contest is completely free!
3. What if I'm not a professional designer?
Don't worry! This contest is open to all skill levels. We're looking for creativity and passion, not necessarily professional-level skills. This is a great opportunity to develop your abilities and gain experience.
4. What does the "loyalty fee" in the prizes mean?
The loyalty fee is an additional reward paid to the winners for three consecutive years after the contest. This recognizes that your design may continue to be used by InGenius Prep over time. The exact amount will be specified in the winner's agreement.
5. What software should I use to create my design?
You can use any design software you're comfortable with, such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or even free alternatives like GIMP or Canva. The important thing is the quality and creativity of your design, not the software used to create it.
6. Can I get feedback on my design before submitting?
While we can't provide individual feedback before submission due to the volume of participants, we encourage you to seek input from your art teachers, peers, or family members. Remember, the public voting round will also provide valuable feedback!
7. What happens if I win? How will I be notified?
Winners will be announced on our website and social media channels on October 20, 2024. We will also contact the winners directly using the contact information provided during registration. Make sure your contact details are up to date!
