CYCS 2024 Recap:
Empowering the Future

"I never imagined we'd not only have to worry about being replaced by artificial intelligence, but also being overshadowed by these high school students!"

These words of admiration came from Joel Butterly, a successful entrepreneur once featured in Forbes Magazine, after attending the 3rd Annual Canadian Youth Clubs Summit (CYCS) on March 2nd at the Granite Club in Toronto. At the summit, a group of high school students aged 14 to 18 astounded us with their remarkable achievements, proving that age is not a limitation, but can be an advantage in amplifying one's impact.

Their presentations left every audience member, judge, and media personnel in awe and admiration. These vibrant youths have already collaborated closely with Supreme Court justices, surgeons, and hundreds of lawyers, engaged in intellectual discourse with elite individuals from institutions like Harvard, The New York Times, and the World Bank, and been extensively covered by major media outlets. In the blink of an eye, these young high school students have taken tangible actions to change the world.

2024 - A Milestone for CYCS

  • Over 50 student clubs/organizations applied to become keynote speakers, both in quantity and quality, unprecedentedly showcasing CYCS's rapidly rising prominence.

  • CYCS established its network and had the honor of welcoming back "CYCS alumna" Jessica Yu. Jessica, now a stellar student at the University of Chicago, returned as both a judge and a special guest speaker, bearing witness to the growth of this year's cohort.

  • The total prize money for the four awards at CYCS 2024 also increased to $5,000, with the highest award being $2,000. This not only reflects Ignite InGenius Prep Canada's high regard for youth leadership development and community building but also acknowledges the capabilities and efforts of these students.

  • The judging panel for this year's CYCS comprised an impressive lineup of experts from various fields. Based on their diverse backgrounds, experiences, and professional expertise, they provided students with rich and constructive feedback. This demonstrates that CYCS is not just a platform for enhancing university admissions but also a cradle for comprehensive personality development and cultivation.
